Creating a Spend Goal
How do you implement gamification without harming or devaluing your brand? Spend Goal provides the solution.
The Spend Goal campaign is primarily utilized to increase your Average Order Value (AOV). AOV varies depending on industry, clientele, country, and other factors, so make sure you are aware of your store's AOV. Shopify reports it under the Analytics menu in the Dashboards section. Keep the number in mind when creating your Goal campaign, and always set the goal slightly higher than your current AOV.
As part of the upsell builder app. Its goal is to increase your average order value through gamification. It can gamify the visitors' purchase experience by setting quests or missions, amplified through eye-candy graphics and catchy, customizable texts. When your gamification strategy works, you’ll trigger powerful human emotions like excitement, curiosity, and intrigue. These emotions drive people to buy more, interact more, and remember your brand. You’ll have:
- Better engagement
- Increased loyalty
- Higher sales
It’s fully customizable for your brand and allows you to:
- Put your customers in control, allowing them to increase their average order value.
- Automate the process from your end.
- Customizable in line with your brand and your customers.
- Increase revenue through gamification.
Here's how to set up a goal-based offer.
As previously mentioned, have in mind the Average Order Value of your store before starting the setup.
Although technically possible, as Vitals Upsell Builder does provide the capability to create multiple campaigns simultaneously, it is best to keep only one Goal campaign active at any given time. This is to ensure the best User Experience by keeping the Goal's simple concept... simple.
The first step of the campaign configuration is to select the eligible products, the products that the visitor needs to add to the cart, to achieve the spending goal. Here, we reinforce the suggestion to keep it simple. For the customers to easily understand, we recommend using ANY PRODUCT selection.
However, if you do want to promote a specific collection or a handful of products, be sure to make this clear in the Text Formatting section, with precise phrasings, like:
Spend {{ goalAmount }} in Accessories to get {{ value }} discount! Get {{ amountMore }} worth of Accessories to get {{ value }} discount!
Keep note that the Goal widget that appears on the product page will only appear for products that you have added in Eligible Products.
The Dashboard
Even though there are quite a few settings for the Goal campaign, most of them are self-explanatory, focused on the configuration of the appearance and text disclaimers in all 3 possible states:
- when the goal target is not started
- when the goal is in progress
- when the goal target is reached
The widget can also be configured individually to be displayed only in the screens of choice:
- Homepage
- Collection page
- Product page
- Cart page
To further enhance the customers' UX, Vitals provides the Show widget on non-product pages when the goal is at 0% setting. This prevents the widget from being displayed on the non-product pages (Homepage, Collections, and Cart pages) when the visitor hasn't added any eligible product from the Goal campaign to the Cart.
Vitals discounts can be applied from any Upsell Builder apps, such as Buy X Get Y, Product Bundles, Volume Discounts, and Goal. If multiple offers target the same products when added to the cart, the highest discount from all the offers based on the final price will be applied. Learn more.
