Significantly improved load time

53% of visits are likely to be abandoned if pages take longer than 3 seconds to load [ Google]

Apps are usually the ones to blame for skyrocketing page load times ( 1, 2, 3, 4). For each app installed on a Shopify store, a different request is made to a different server worldwide when a visitor lands on it. Each of these means a set of connections (handshakes) that take a bit of time to exchange information — and each app, depending on how well it's built, might make more requests to download content, script files, and images.

This is the first reason that drove us to build Vitals. Here's a case study we wrote that shows a 4x improvement in load time with Vitals vs. individual apps: How to improve your Shopify store load time (v.2.0)

Vitals will only load on your store the apps you've activated. This way, if you enable only ten apps, only these ten will be loaded on your storefront in a single script, resulting in an improved page speed for your store.

For instructions on running your page speed report and checking the impact on the speed of various apps or theme features, you can check this article that shows how to test your Shopify store speed.
